DOMOTEX asis/CHINAFLOOR and R+T Asia – the platform continuous to drive cross-industry collaboration
in the building materials and interior design sectors across the Asia Pacific region.
Robust attendance, expansive international participation, and forward-thinking innovation defined Globus Event’s BUILD ASIA Mega Show, held from 28 to 30 May in Shanghai, China. The event spanned 330,000sqm (3.5+ million square feet) of exhibiting space at city’s National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC).
Launched as an umbrella platform, the BUILD ASIA Mega Show brings together two of Asia’s leading international events: DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, the leading international carpet and flooring exhibition in Asia, alongside R+T Asia, Asia’s leading tradeshow for the sun shading and doors/gates industries. It also encompasses other related events and themed areas such as cadex (an event dedicated to the contract, architect, and design fields), HD+ (a show for home decoration and lifestyle) and IPD (Interior Prefabricated Decoration).
The co-location of these events fosters a vibrant ecosystem representing the diverse facets of the construction, building materials, and interior design industries, encouraging cross-industry dialogue and multi-channel integration.
R+T Asia celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, setting a new benchmark in both scale and reach. The exhibition covered 120,000 square meters (1.2+ million square feet) with more than 750 exhibitors and brands, the largest number to date. Meanwhile, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR spanned 210,000 square meters (2.2+ million square feet) across seven halls, welcoming around 1,500 flooring and carpet manufacturers from all over the world.
Despite ongoing trade complexities and global economic challenges, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR attracted 83,056 professional visitors from 124 countries, the highest number of participating nations in the event’s history. R+T Asia attracted a record of 55,201 professional visitors from 115 countries. This strong international presence for both expos and the other co-located events underscores their continued post-COVID growth, highlighting both China’s and Asia’s pivotal roles as global hubs for innovation and sourcing in these industries.
A part of the DOMOTEX portfolio—Deutsche Messe’s globally renowned exhibition brand for the carpet and floorcovering industry—DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR was launched in Shanghai 26 years ago and has grown into the largest trade platform of its kind in Asia. The event is organized by DACF Exhibitions Ltd., a joint venture between Globus Events and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, established last January.
